This is a complex which has a full-size, international Olympic standard pool, designed with amateurs of water activities, professional athletes and organisation of the biggest sports competitions in mind. The name ”Water Sports Centre” is not a coincidence here, and the perfect conditions for comprehensive training in all water sports are ensured by: the full-size Olympic swimming pool, 50 metres long (with the possibility of division into 2 smaller ones), a swimming pool with a depth of 5 m, a diving tower, a gym and saunas.

OLYMPIC POOL - 50 M (DIVIDED INTO TWO 25-METRE POOLS)

A full-size “Olympic” sports pool with a length of 50 m and seating for 4000 people, at which competitions at the levels of World and European Championships may take place. The pool may be divided into two 25-metre pools. This is the only full-size sports pool (“Olympic”) in Wielkopolska and one of twelve facilities of this type in Poland.

DEEP POOL - DEPTH OF 5 METRES

A pool with a length of 25 metres and a depth of 5 metres with a 10 metre tower and springboards. An ideal place to learn swimming, free diving and water jumping. At the bottom of the pools is the so called “bubble machine” whose operation consists of the production of air bubbles which cushion the impact of the body with water during jumps and dives..

This is a special pool filled with sponges which is located in a separate room. This place is for people who train in water-jumping to perform the imitation of evolutions which a jumper must, later on, perform in the pool.

In other words, this means making babies familiar with water. The credo which accompanies the instructors during all teaching stages consists of five words: “we teach love for water”. The water nursery is about activities designed for a child and their parent to manage jointly and consciously the development of the baby. Thanks to these special exercises, the participants learn new skills and successively build their confidence in water.

WATER KINDERGARTEN

These activities are targeted at little children who are only just starting their adventure with the swimming pool and swimming as such, however they have already been able to get used to water. Instructors conduct the activities in accordance with the general principle of “learning to swim through play”, so all kinds of toys fulfil the role of scientific aids, thanks to which children are more willing to participate in the learning process and assimilate new skills faster.

Contrary to appearances, even adults, under the supervision of a professional instructor will be in their element in the blink of an eye. INDIVIDUAL LESSONS

An option for people who do not have time to attend activities regularly or who just want to achieve something more. The most effective way to learn swimming is to have an instructor who will devote their whole time to a trainee. This way, everyone has the chance to become a true swimming champion. The date of the meeting may be selected according to individual preferences after arrangements with the instructor or swimming school.

JUMP ACADEMY

The Malta Thermal Baths and Water Park is one of few places in Poland where one can practice water-jumping. This sport discipline has gained popularity owing to the TV programme entitles “Celebrity Splash”, which was produced at our facility. Though it would seem that this is just “falling” into water, water jumping has many advantages: it models the figure, improves the motor coordination, and balance, teaches orientation in space, and what is even more important, it gives you a shot of adrenaline. Just about everyone may sign up for water-jumping training. No experience in this discipline is required, it is enough to be able to swim.

AQUA-FITNESS

Currently, this is one of the most fashionable forms of physical activity.
The properties of the water environment make this training safe – it is effective and pleasant and does not overstrain your joints. This form of physical effort is excellent endurance training, and above all, it strengthens your muscles (water stimulates the muscles of the abdomen, back and buttocks to maintain the vertical position).

REHABILITATION IN WATER

Exercises in water are widely applied in the treatment and rehabilitation of many musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and neuromuscular diseases. They relieve the whole spine and joints, reduce muscle tension and increase the flexibility of tendons and ligaments. They have a positive effect on the endurance of your body and improve motor coordination and balance. A suitable water temperature (31-34⁰C), guarantees the full relaxation that is necessary for the performance of the exercises. Rehabilitation in water takes place in complete safety. Patients who cannot swim are provided with special safety aids.

SYNCHRONOUS SWIMMING

Casually referred to as water ballet, this is an Olympic discipline which is a combination of swimming, acrobatics and ballet. This is mainly a female sport discipline, though not a long time ago, a mixed doubles class was introduced, that is, a choreography performed by one male athlete and one female athlete. Synchronous swimming is one of the most spectacular sports.

WATER JUMPING

Water jumping is a very spectacular discipline, which requires great acrobatic skills, swimming and quite a lot of courage. It is possible to distinguish six groups of jumps which can be performed in three positions. Jumps are performed standing or with a run-up depending on the position of the athlete at the moment of the rise or direction of a turn.

WATERPOLO

Water polo is the oldest team sport in the history of the Olympic games and it made its debut in the year 1900. This is a very interesting sport discipline which resembles hand ball in its system of play and rugby when it comes to toughness and bravery. Water polo players are distinguished by their excellent performance and highly developed motor skills.

DIVING

Diving is a very pleasant sport, however, it requires certain knowledge and skills, therefore training in a swimming pool is necessary to practice it safely. Free diving with equipment is considered an extreme sport.

This is a 10 metre diving tower with platforms on several different height levels. The highest of them is designed only for professionals; you can have a try from a height of 3 metres at selected hours in accordance with the schedule available in the Sport Pool hall.

The room next to the pools, in which there is equipment for exercises intended for professionals. Here, you can prepare yourself for a workout in a comprehensive manner or just stretch your muscles.

SAUNAS

Our sports pools area represents one of the few facilities in Poland which is able to hold World and European Championship competitions. We have the only full-size sports (Olympic) pool in Wielkopolska at our disposal and this is one of only twelve sports facilities of this type in Poland, which, at the same time has seating for up to 4,000 people. The diversity and specifics of the pools and the equipment available at the Malta Thermal Baths and Water Park attract the best athletes, so do not be surprised, if you happen to meet a successful Olympic champion while you are training here.

The complementary offer of Sports Pools includes various courses and activities for children and adults such as: swimming lessons, synchronous swimming, a water ball, diving, water jumping and aqua-fitness. At these pools, you can get a rescue licence and a swimming certificate.
